How to distinguish between varus and valgus?
Inverted and valgus feet can be judged by appearance. In appearance, the toe of the varus foot inclines to the inside and the heel inclines to the outside. When walking, it will show a figure of eight gait. The valgus foot is the toe of the human body, with valgus deformity and inward heel. During the activity, the ankle joint will be painful or accompanied with swelling, and severe varus and valgus will affect the normal activity of the ankle joint, which is easy to lead to fatigue injury of ankle muscle tissue. It is necessary to take correct treatment in time to strengthen local functional exercise.
The difference between varus and valgus is mainly due to the different positions of ankle folds. When the foot is varus, folds are generally formed on the inside of the foot, and when the foot is valgus, folds are generally formed on the outside of the ankle. It can also be distinguished from the leg type. In general, the foot turns inward to form an O-shaped leg, and the foot turns outward to form an X-shaped leg. It can also be distinguished by the gait analysis machine according to the weight distribution of the sole of the foot when the patient walks. Generally, the center of gravity of the varus foot is mainly at the outer edge of the foot, and the valgus foot is mainly at the inner side. At ordinary times, pay attention to correct the walking posture, and can also be used with ankle foot orthosis appropriately.
This AFO Brace is mostly used to treat some foot problems, such as foot resistance caused by hemiplegia, foot drop due to peroneal nerve injury or sciatica nerve injury. It improves our walking posture, keeps the ankle joint stable and provides support for the entire ankle area. The material is mainly polypropylene. Polypropylene is non-toxic, tasteless, low density, and its strength, stiffness, hardness and heat resistance are better than low pressure polyethylene, and can be used at about 100 °C. Common organic solvents such as acids and bases have little effect on it.
