Generally, it is seen from the appearance that:

(1) If there is obvious swelling on the outer and inner sides of the ankle joint, and after pressing it down, it is painful to refuse to press and cannot be touched at all, or if it is painful to press down on a certain point on the outer side of the foot, it is recommended to seek medical attention. If the above symptoms are present, the ligament must have sprains or torn fractures.


(2) If it is a patient with recurrent sprains, there will be no obvious swelling or particularly severe pain after habitual sprains. However, there will be stabbing or slight pain when walking or stepping on the ground, which does not affect walking. This situation can be observed again.
