AFO indicator
AFo (Acoustic Figure of Merit) is an indicator used to measure the performance of acoustic materials. It reflects the sound insulation and absorption properties of the material.
AFo index is usually used to represent the ratio of sound insulation performance to sound absorption performance of materials. The formula is: AFo = (STC - MNC) / (STC + MNC)
Among them, STC (Sound Transmission Class) is an indicator of sound insulation performance, indicating the degree of energy attenuation when sound passes through a material. MNC (Minimum Noise Criterion) is an indicator of sound absorption performance, indicating the degree to which a material absorbs noise.
The higher the AFo index, the better the sound insulation and absorption performance of the material. Generally, AFo values above 0.5 are considered good sound insulation and absorption materials.
