Symptoms of osteoporosis

Osteoporosis refers to the decrease of bone density and quality, resulting in the change of bone microstructure. Osteoporosis is common in the elderly, especially in postmenopausal elderly women. The common symptoms of osteoporosis are as follows:

1. Lumbar and back pain: lumbar and back pain of unknown cause, accompanied by wandering, has nothing to do with exercise and rest, and may be caused by osteoporosis;

2. Hump back or height reduction: When the elderly are found to have a hump back or their height gradually decreases, osteoporosis vertebral compression fracture may occur;

3. Fracture is easy to occur: if the affected limb fractures occur after a fall, even when there is no obvious trauma, it may be caused by osteoporosis;

4. Other symptoms: some patients may have chilliness, fear of cold, cold hands and feet, poor mobility and other phenomena, which may be related to osteoporosis.

If the patient has the above symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital for bone mineral density examination to determine whether there is osteoporosis.
